It’s a Wrap

The 2011 NYS Museums in Conversation Conference is now one for the record books.  More than 275 colleagues gathered in Buffalo April 3-5 for a lively and thought-provoking meeting that examined the museum value proposition from a variety of angles.  Hearty thank you’s go to all our keynoters:  Marsha Semmel of IMLS, our Focus on Value facilitator Dr. Barbara J. Soren (pictured at left), and Dr. Michael Frisch.  What a line-up!

I came home with two solid pages of “to do’s” from the conference – my marching orders for the next year.  I gained many ideas of ways we can do what we’re doing better, and ways that we can do things differently, and books to read and people to stay in touch with. Beyond that, I am energized, inspired and refocused.  This conference each year is a shot in the arm.  And it’s so successful because you plan it with such care and thought.  You see that all our basic needs are met, and then bring us to the top of the pyramid, to inspiration and esteem.

Thank you so much for once again pulling together a wonderful conference! There was so much helpful information – and Marsha was a wonderful key note speaker!!!

I truly appreciate all you do to support us out in the field!
