January 6, 2017   In a New Year’s article, The New York Times editorial board wrote of the ways we can be inspired by the potential of the new year and the “power of unity, of drawing close, and of speaking out.” Those thoughts strongly echo the mission of the Museum Association and our programs for our members and New York’s museum community in 2017. Over 100 organizations and individuals joined or renewed their membership in the last two months of 2016, a show of strength and support that boosted exciting plans and goals for 2017.

Appointment of Devin Lander as the New York State Historian

Today, the Museum Association of New York (MANY) announces that Executive Director Devin Lander has accepted the position of New York State Historian with the New York State Office of Cultural Education.  The New York State Historian position is located in the New York State Museum and is tasked with helping to coordinate the historical field in the State.
