Statement of Work:
Since 1973, Mr. Nedbor has concentrated on hand forged ironwork. Using traditional blacksmithing techniques, he creates reproductions of 17th, 18th and 19th cent. hardware and household ironwork. Hardware of the Dutch Colonial Period is one of his areas of specialization. His work is used in the restoration of private homes and museums, many of which are on the National Historic Register, including an 1892 schooner. Jonathan is also a popular teacher and demonstrator, able to share his insights into the forging process and the role of the blacksmith in history.
