Museum professionals identifying as members of the LGBTQIA+ community discuss successful models of LGBTQIA+ inclusion and representation within American museums. With examples ranging from contemporary art to heritage preservation, national best practices and personal experience will be leveraged for a conversational primer on engaging with the cultural legacy and demographic needs of the LGBTQIA+ community inside and outside the walls of your institution.

Access to Art: Creatively Engaging Visitors with Disabilities at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery

How can museums create a more inclusive environment for all visitors and break down barriers to participation? From smaller adaptations like signage, to large scale building modifications, and customized programs. In this session, learn how the Albright-Knox Art Gallery uses modern and contemporary art as the impetus to creatively engage visitors with disabilities in Access AK programs.
