Reimagining a Century of Visitor Experience Graphics with Today's Inclusive Outreach Programs

75-minute session

Location: Hilton Albany, Governor D

Day/Time: Monday, April 8 //11 AM - 12:15 PM

About: C&G Partners' creative founding principal Keith Helmetag and BBG's Vice President of Education & Interpretive, Sonal Bhatt, will discuss the process, results and funding related to a comprehensive orientation, directional wayfinding and mapping system that replaced a century of ad hoc signage. The overview and sub-garden maps were created in the spirit of hand-painted botanical illustrations, but now can be updated digitally. The new visitor experience system augments the Garden's ongoing programs, like the Power of Trees and Lightscape, that draw increased diverse audiences. Interactive prompts will encourage audience members to share anecdotes about their institution's visitor experience graphics and programs.
