The museum is committed to bringing STEM education opportunities to students from all backgrounds and abilities through numerous outreach and education programs at the museum and in the community.

    Job Description

    The director of guest experience is an integral part of the MOST's day-to-day operations, helping to create an amazing experience for our 120,000+ annual guests and thousands of museum members. The successful candidate is a people person who is focused on outstanding customer service and satisfaction. This position oversees our front desk, Science Shop, concessions stand, and membership operations, ensuring that the vision and mission of the MOST are fulfilled.

    This position's standard work week is Sunday through Thursday, with occasional additional hours/days for special events.


    • Supervises the guest services team, including a guest services coordinator, member services coordinator, guest services representatives, and theatre ushers, and cashiers, including coordinating daily and weekly schedules and assigning duties, and performing employee reviews.
    • Manage reporting on performance of membership, Science Shop, and admissions operations, including managing budgets and inventory. Work with other leadership staff to plan and market campaigns.
    • Generate ideas for increasing museum attendance, Science Shop sales, and membership.
    • Direct the daily operation of the guest services department, with hands-on interaction with supervisors and staff, and regular walk-throughs of the museum
    • Assist with event coordination and planning, including occasional work hours on Friday and Saturday for museum events.
    • Must be computer savvy with spreadsheet and word processing programs and accounting software.

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Salary range: $65,000 - 70,000
